Hochman's "Beyond Nine Lakes" wins the 20th Annual Cambridge Chamber Singers Composition Competition

Hochman's choral work, based on a traditional Latvian melody and text, was chosen out of over 450 works and announced today as winner of the 20th Annual Cambridge Chamber Singers Composition Competition.
Commissioned in 2014 by Youth Choir "Kamer" for the 'Amber Songs' album, "Beyond Nine Lakes" will be sung by the CCS in two concerts in May 2019 in the Boston area.

"Shedun Fini" in a California-Premiere

Hochman's trio for clarinet, cello and piano, an hommage to Schubert's Symphony in B minor ("Unfinished"), joins Miecyzslaw Weinberg's Sonata for clarinet and piano, Op. 26 in a music program created by clarinetist Margaret Thornhill, to be performed at Pasadena Presbyterian Church in California.

The documentary film "Nachlass" ("Legacy") by Christoph Hübner and Gabriele Voss, featuring music by Gilad Hochman, is presented in cinemas throughout Germany, after being presented in several renowned film festivals during the previous year. Hochman's "Creation Septet" on Kol Hamusica

Israel's classical music radio station is to dedicate a full program to Israeli concert music composed on texts taken from the biblical book of Genesis. As part of this program, music editor and musicologist Dr. Uri Golomb will present Hochman's award-winning dramatic work "The Creation Septet" for soprano, clarinet, string quartet and percussion, composed in 2003.

Intimacy of Creativity Festival – Hong Kong

Intimacy of Creativity – The Bright Sheng Partnership: Composers Meet Performers in Hong Kong, a first of its kind annual partnership devoted to promoting an intimate dialogue between composers and performers, has invited composer Gilad Hochman to be Guest Artist during the upcoming festival.

Hochman will join  director and composer Bright Sheng and the Israeli Ensemble-in-Residence and musicians for a series of discussions, rehearsals, and concerts including selected Composer Fellows Nick DiBerardino (USA), Jordan Kuspa (USA), Nicole Murphy (Australia), Meilina Tsui (Kazakhstan/Hong Kong), and SiHyun Uhm (South Korea).

During the festival Hochman's trio 'Shedun Fini' will also receive it's Hong Kong Premiere.

A new work to be recorded by Cantor Azi Schwartz and RIAS Chamber Choir

"Shedun Fini" played at the Israeli Schubertiade

The trio, an hommage to F. Schubert's Symphony in B minor ("Unfinished"), was commissioned and composed for the Israeli Schubertiade in 2011. It will now return in a full chamber program of works by different composers relating to Schubert's brilliant corpus of works.

Sirenot sings "Szymborska" in Jerusalem

First premiered at the Aachen Choir Biennale in 2013, Hochman's "Szymborska" will be sung at Mishkenot Sha'ananim Music Center in Jerusalem. The piece, especially composed for the women's ensemble "Sirenot", is a tribute to the renowned Polish poet Wisława Szymborska, and is based on her poem "Vermeer", which deals with Johannes Vermeer's painting "The Milkmaid". .

ICP wins the Partos Prize for "Slightly Disturbed" 

The Israeli Chamber Project was announced as winner of the Oedoen Partos Prize, awarded by the Israeli Ministry of Culture, for their "sweeping, moving, profound and faithful interpretation" to Hochman's work "Slightly Disturbed" in NYC in 2015.

Gilad Hochman on "Israeli Treasure"

Several of Hochman's chamber works will be presented in "Israeli Treasure" of Israel's public radio channel Kol HaMusica: a two-hours program curated and moderated by Dr. Uri Golomb, dedicated to Israeli creators. In addition to an interview (in Hebrew) and to Hochman's works, two other compositions will be featured: Ilya Heifets' Violin Concerto and Rautavaara's Piano Concerto No. 1.
