German-Premiere to "River of Silence" at the ID Festival Berlin

Hochman's work "River of Silence", composed for Sferraina Ensemble and commissioned by Festival de Chaillol in France, will be presented during ID Festival Berlin. The piece is based on Kahlil Gibran's "About Death" out of his prose poetry essay book "The Prophet".

Samuel Rhodes plays Hochman's 'Akeda' on Yom Kippur

The renowned violist Samuel Rhodes, former member of the Juilliard String Quartet and chair of the viola department at the Juilliard School, plays Hochman's 'Akeda' for solo viola as part of the Yom Kippur Service at the Temple Sinai of Bergen County in New Jersey. The other performers in the program are Hiroko Yajima (violin) and Marcy Rosen (cello) who together with Mr. Rhodes play Beethoven's String Trio in G major, Op. 9 No. 1.

Sirenot Ensemble sings "Szymborska" at the Israel Music Fest

First premiered at the Aachen Choir Biennale in 2013, Hochman's "Szymborska" will be performed at the Elma Arts Complex during the 19th Israel Music Fest this year. The piece for Women's Ensemble is a tribute to the renowned Polish poet Wisława Szymborska, and is based on her poem "Vermeer", which deals with Johannes Vermeer's painting "The Milkmaid".

Neue Meister II - Crossing Borders

The 2nd concert in the "New Masters" series titled "Crossing Boarders” will feature works by Christian Jost, Fazil Say, Matthew Herbert, Sven Helbig and the German premiere of Gilad Hochman's work Nedudim ("Wanderings") for mandolin and string orchestra. Supported by Volkswagen, the program was initiated by the international label Edel / Berlin Classics and will be recorded on a new album later on this year.
