The Praetorius Projekt and "Ode to Time" broadcast on WDR 3 Konzert

On the 400 Jubilee of early 17th century German composer, Michael Praetorius, a new project, initiated by Stefan Heucke, premieres piano works by 24 international composers, especially composed for this occasion.

The concert was recorded by WDR 3 on November 1st and will be broadcast on December 2nd, including Hochman's "Ode to Time" for piano.

"Ode to Time" for piano premiered in Bochum as part of the Praetorius Projekt
On the 400 Jubilee of early 17th century German composer, Michael Praetorius, a new project, initiated by Stefan Heucke, premieres piano works by 24 international composers, especially composed for this occasion.
The works – including Hochman's "Ode to Time" – all relate to "Pavane de Spaigne" by French violinist and composer Pierre-Francisque Caroubel and M. Praetorius (1610).

Hochman's work for Harp and Saxophone (Soprano), performed by Jerusalem Duo, has been chosen for a new compilation by the independent music label, which seeks to present a range of musical creations that echo our time. The digital compilation's proceeds are dedicated to the humanitarian organization Samos Volunteers.

New work for Klang Dimension duo

A second work for Harp and Saxophone (Alto) has been commissioned by the Munich-based duo Klang Dimension –Martina Holler (Harp) and Hermann Rid (Saxophone) – and will be premiered in 2021.

The piece comes following Hochman's first duo for Harp and Saxophone (Soprano), "Prayer Without Words", which has been commissioned by the Kunstmuseum Bochum in 2018.

 

The 20th day of Chorbiennale Aachen's Advent Calendar is marked with Hochman's "Szymborska" for women's ensemble, composed and performed  by Ensemble Sirenot.

"Prayer of the Living" for choir recorded

The piece, Elegy and Canon for choir, bringing together Latin and Hebrew liturgical texts, was commissioned and performed by Kammerchor Hannover under conductor Stephan Doormann for the 2013 International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Its new recording by the Kammerchor Hannover will be available during April 2019.
